We've had some interesting weather these last few weeks, warm and sunny, cool and rainy, cold and snowy. It seems like the worst has passed, and after this present stretch of rain, the forecast is looking more spring-like. and the students and teachers will have more of a chance to get outside for more of their learning. It was nice to see some parents and guardians in the building for conferences (masked and distanced, of course), some parents of students who started at Rowe this year or last year had never been inside. Other conferences were held in the outdoor classroom or online. A number of the conferences were student-led, which is an engaging way for students to participate in the discussion of their learning. I look forward to a time when parents and guardians can visit the classrooms, both inside and outside, again to observe and/or participate in what their student's class is doing.
Vacation is coming, and cases are rising slightly in Franklin County, and other parts of the state. We're in better shape than last year, with the travel restrictions, but please be mindful that we're not out of the woods with this pandemic yet. Vaccines, boosters, and masks are still the best ways to keep everyone safe and learning.
The last two years have been tough on everyone, families, school staff, and students too. I saw an interesting article about helping children understand emotion when wearing masks. I learned a few things, and wanted to share them with you. Here's a link: https://drive.google.com/file/...
